A woman was killed Wednesday when she returned to a burning house in Bensalem to rescue a pet, officials said.

Two people, including a firefighter, were injured. There is no word yet on their conditions.

The raging fire was reported about 6:25 a.m. in the house on the 2700 block of June Avenue and declared under control about an hour later.

The name of the woman killed in the fire has not been released. Officials said she initially escaped the blaze but returned to the house to get a pet.

Video from television news helicopters showed flames coming out of the roof. Two cars in the driveway also caught fire.

An oxygen tank inside the house also exploded during the blaze, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
