Police on Wednesday identified a man who was fatally shot in West Philadelphia the day before as Michael Miles, of the city’s Powelton section.

About 2 a.m. Tuesday, officers responding to a shooting outside on the 4100 block of Brown Street found the 34-year-old victim shot several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was one of two men killed during a four-hour period. The other deadly shooting happened about 10:15 p.m. Monday, when officers found a 3o-year-old victim, identified as Andre Brody, inside the kitchen area of a home on the 1900 block of East Venango Street in Kensington.

Medics rushed Brody, who had a gunshot wound to his head, to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about half an hour later. Police said he lived on the block where he was shot.

In another separate shooting, a man was shot about 10:20 p.m. Monday when he and a friend were in a vehicle that was at a stop sign on the 1800 block of West 69th Avenue in West Oak Lane, police said.

An unknown man, dressed all in black with a mask covering his face from his nose down, approached the vehicle and fired several shots through a passenger-side window, hitting the victim several times, police said.

That man was in critical condition at Einstein Medical Center, police said.

Police reported no arrests in any of the shootings, and said the motives were not known.

Correction: Due to an erroneous address provided by police, an earlier version of this article had the wrong neighborhood for the man who was critically shot in the vehicle.
