Two male students at Frankford High School were criminally charged Thursday for allegedly attempting to force a 14-year-old girl into a boy’s bathroom to sexually assault her, according to police.

Police said an 18-year-old — they did not identify him — grabbed the girl by her shoulder while trying to talk to her on the 3rd floor of the school around 9:55 a.m. Wednesday. The girl pushed him off and walked away, police said, but he allegedly grabbed her again and forced her into a nearby boy’s bathroom.

The door to the bathroom had been locked, but a 17-year-old had a key and opened it, police said. Authorities did not say how the 17-year-old — whom they also did not identify — got the key. But they said he stood guard outside while the older teen took the girl inside, grabbed her by the throat, and attempted to sexually assault her.

A teacher heard the girl scream, came to the bathroom, and opened the door, police said. The two male teens were taken into custody and later charged, police said.

The 18-year-old is facing counts including attempted rape and simple assault, while 17-year-old was charged as a juvenile with conspiracy to commit rape, unlawful restraint, and related counts, police said.
