Three people were shot and injured, including two teens, in the city’s Strawberry Mansion section early Saturday, police said.

About 12:05 a.m., officers responded to 31st and Berks Streets for a report of gunshots. There, they found a 9mm fired cartridge casing and blood on the northwest corner, police said.

Police later learned that three gunshot victims had been taken to Temple University Hospital in private vehicles.

A 25-year-old man, who was shot in his back, was in critical condition and was immediately taken to the operating room, police said.

A 17-year-old boy, who was struck once each in his right thigh and right shoulder, was in stable condition. A 15-year-old boy who suffered a graze wound to his right leg was also in stable condition.

Police said the two teens told them that they had been walking together when they heard gunshots, then ran in different directions. They said they called a friend who drove the 25-year-old victim and the older teen to the hospital. The younger teen said he was driven to the hospital by a different friend.

No arrests have been made in this case, and the investigation is continuing.
