After throwing a few warmup pitches, Ramos was removed from the game. But Phillies manager Pete Mackanin was planning on pulling Ramos after the at-bat, regardless of the outcome.

“I was taking him out anyway,” he said.

Ramos would ultimately be charged with an earned run when Hechavarria scored later in the inning on Christian Yelich‘s RBI single, making it 3-2 in favor of the Phillies.

Ramos said in the clubhouse postgame that he was fine.
