Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man found early Saturday at a trash transfer station in the city’s Bridesburg neighborhood, police said.

The man was found on the 2900 block of East Orthodox Street.

According to 6ABC, about 5 a.m., a trash truck driver noticed something burning in a station lot, then doused the flames with a fire extinguisher. That’s when he saw a man’s burning body, the station reported.

Responding officers and medics realized the man had been shot several times, the TV station reported. They also noticed that the man’s arms had been cut off and his body put on fire.

The victim has not been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
