A 37-year-old father was in critical condition Tuesday after being shot twice in the face after confronting a man who allegedly robbed his teenage son, police say.
The shooting happened about 2 a.m. near 62nd and Market Streets.
The father had gone there to confront a robber after his son came home and told him he was robbed of $40 a couple of hours earlier, CBS3 reported.
The man then shot the father twice in the face, news reports said. Police, who were nearby, rushed the father to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
“Now, fortunately, our real-time police cameras did record the perpetrator running north on 62nd Street from Market,” Chief Inspector Scott Small told 6ABC. “He’s described as a male wearing blue or dark-colored clothing.”
Police reported no arrests. The shooting remains under investigation.
