Philly’s Magic Gardens inspired new music by Augusta Read Thomas

To celebrate its 200th anniversary, the Musical Fund Society of Philadelphia commissioned new musical works by significant American composers. Augusta Read Thomas composed “Magic Gardens” inspired by Isaiah Zagar’s iconic mosaic art. The piece will be premiered by the Rolston String Quartet in a bicentennial concert at the Perelman Theater on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
