Motorists in Center City and the Art Museum area had a hard time getting around Wednesday, thanks to the opening of the Museum of the American Revolution and continuing preparations for the NFL Draft.

Traffic in the area around Independence Hall was slowed by a series of ceremonies surrounding the opening of the revolution museum, located at 3rd and Chestnut Streets.

While that traffic problem will go away,  the Art Museum area will become less accessible in the days ahead while preparations are underway for the NFL Draft and Fan Festival on the Parkway.

On Wednesday, the inner lanes of the Parkway were closed and will remain closed until May 2. The blockages there are forcing motorists who usually take the Kelly and MLK Drives onto I-76, making the commute even slower on the expressway.

More restrictions are slated starting Monday. You can find a complete list of street closings and information on getting around before and during the NFL draft here.
