A 29-year-old man arrested in New Jersey this week is expected to be charged with shooting into the parking lot of the gentlemen’s club Delilah’s earlier this week, according to police.

Gloucester Township police said Friday that they and Philadelphia police detectives arrested Lawrence Mitchell, 29, at his home on the 90 block of Lincoln Drive in Laurel Springs on Thursday. He was charged with being a fugitive and taken to Camden County Jail to await extradition, police said.

Philadelphia police said that Mitchell would be charged for the shooting after he was extradited. They did not say what counts he might face.

A source close to the investigation said investigators believe Mitchell fired an AR-15 rifle from the fifth-story window of an apartment building under construction across the street from Delilah’s, at Front and Spring Garden Streets.

The gunfire struck two vehicles near a woman outside the club around 6 p.m. Monday. Authorities were investigating whether the gunman was targeting the woman, said by another police source to be a club owner.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said Mitchell was scheduled for a detention hearing Monday morning in Superior Court in Camden.

Police have said there was no indication that anything happened inside Delilah’s that led to the shooting, but have offered no further information about a motive.

A massive police response to the incident prompted the temporary closure of several ramps from I-95. The club reopened  the day after the shooting.
