Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man who stole a bag containing $3,673 worth of Nikon camera equipment from a woman who was at the Reading Terminal Market in Center City earlier this month.

About 3 p.m. on April 5, the man, seen in a surveillance video released by police Thursday, was standing at a table in the customer seating area of the market, on the 1100 block of Arch Street. He then swiped a 61-year-old woman’s nylon camera bag from under her seat, then fled, police said.

The suspect is black, about 40 years old, had a goatee and was wearing a blue sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, a black baseball style cap and gray Nike sneakers.

Anyone with information about him is asked to call the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or Detective Kovach at the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093. Tips, which can be anonymous, can also be submitted online.
