About 6:19 am. Sunday, Hack allegedly entered the 7-Eleven across from City Hall, near Juniper and Market Streets, and asked for cigarettes, police said. When the cashier went to get the cigarettes, Hack allegedly pulled out a large knife and attacked him, stabbing him several times.
Police said that after the clerk wrestled with him, Hack fled without taking anything and dropped a knife on the store floor.
The 58-year-old cashier, stabbed in the head, neck, and shoulder, was in stable condition at Hahnemann University Hospital, police said.
