A firefighter suffered a broken ankle early Wednesday while battling a raging blaze that burned a house to the ground in Pennsauken.
The fire was reported about 2:30 a.m. in the three storey house on the 7400 block of Zimmerman Avenue in the township’s Delair section and quickly engulfed the wooden structure in flames.

The injured firefighter was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment.
It is not yet known how many people have been displaced by the blaze.
The cause of the fire also is under investigation.
