Police in Chester, Delaware County, are investigating three separate shootings from Friday night into early Saturday, one of which was fatal.

About 10:20 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of gunshots fired on the 2000 block of Madison Street. There, they found a 28-year-old man unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a gray Toyota, with several gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen.

The victim, whose name was not released pending family notification, was pronounced dead by medics at the scene.

Separately, at about 12:25 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a residence on the 2600 block of Smithers Street for a shooting. There, they spoke to two men, whom police said were uncooperative, but told police their friend had been shot. The victim had been taken to transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center by another person. At the hospital, police found the victim, who was shot in his right leg, but he, too, was uncooperative, police said.

Detectives were also investigating a report of shots fired in the area of 12th and Harwick Streets at about 9:15 p.m. Friday. They learned that the male victim in this case had walked to Crozer-Chester with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

Anyone with any information on any of these shootings is asked to call Detective Rhaheem Blanden at 610-447-8420.
