Body of missing boater recovered from Delaware River

The body of a boater who drowned after a paddleboat overturned on the Delaware River has been recovered.


The boat toppled over near Helms Cove in Carneys Point, Salem County, about 2:20 p.m. Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. A second man on the boat made it to shore.

The Delaware Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police said early Monday that the body of the missing man had been recovered.





Crews from the Coast Guard, as well as local and state responders from New Jersey and Delaware, had been searching for the man by boat and helicopter.
