A popular Havertown restaurant is in ruins following a fire that engulfed the building in flames.

Firefighters responded around 5:30 a.m. Sunday at Barnaby’s Restaurant, a popular spot in Haverford on West Chester Pike, where they encountered heavy flames that appeared to engulf the entire building.

According to officials, the fire completely destroyed the outside deck of the restaurant and caused serious damage to the building itself. Firefighters from several towns quickly brought the fire under control.

“Extremely heartbreaking. Barnaby’s Havertown is like a person to me. It’s family. Everyone that works here is family,” owner Bill Daley told 6 ABC.

No injuries were reported. The restaurant employs about 50 people.

Despite the level of damage, management is optimistic the restaurant will be back up and running by July 4th weekend.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.

Fox 29 reporter Andrew Adamson also shared photos of the scene, showing the aftermath of the devastating fire.

A 6 ABC viewer Christine Hutkin captured footage of the fire as it burned.
