The arrest of three people for an Atlantic City drug deal led police to a large cache of heroin and cash.

Quran Stokelin, 23, was arrested Wednesday after narcotics officers saw an alleged hand-to-hand drug deal at about 3 p.m. at South Carolina Avenue and Bacharach Boulevard. He was found possessing single packet of heroin, police said.

Darryl Tyler, 49, who allegedly sold the drug, tried to flee but was apprehended near North Carolina and Atlantic Avenues. He was found with 34 bags of heroin, authorities said. Police also arrested Clarice Dallas, 33, who was with Tyler, after she was found in possession of marijuana.

A search of Tyler’s residence found much more contraband: 6,325 bags of heroin, more than an ounce of raw heroin that had not yet been packaged for sale, and more than $8,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of heroin, police reported.

Tyler was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, and resisting arrest. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, according to police.

Stokelin was charged with possession of heroin. Dallas was charged with possession of marijuana. Both were released with pending court hearings.
