April finally gave birth!
For the unfamiliar, April is a 15-year-old giraffe that has captured the internet’s interest and spawned viral videos, hashtags and Facebook groups.
“It’s happening!” Jordan Patch, owner of Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York where the giraffe is located, posted on Facebook. “Cancel your plans. It’s time to have a baby.”
Over one million viewers tuned in to watch the live birth.

For more than a month, viewers from across the planet – as many as 240,000 at a time – religiously tuned in to see April meander around her stall, flip moss about, and stick her tough out to get romaine lettuce. Occasionally a keeper will wander in to give her treats while giraffe boyfriend Oliver, in the next pen, looked on with interest.

The 15-month pregnancy has been the most anticipated event since the birth of Britian’s Prince George, with fans weighing in to guess the due date.
Throughout part of Saturday morning, April could been seen pacing in her pen with the little legs protruding from her back end as Oliver, her mate, watches from next door. For the record, Oliver is not as friendly as April.
The baby is likely to check in about six feet tall and 150 pounds.
