Five Pennsylvania men, three of them from Philadelphia, reportedly have been arrested in a July 4 attack on lifeguards in Ocean City.



The Press of Atlantic City reports that police were called to the Eighth Street beach for a disturbance involving lifeguards and several loud, intoxicated people at about 4:30 p.m.

Four of the suspects allegedly assaulted lifeguards before turning their attention to arriving police officers, the newspaper reported.





Three men were arrested on the beach and the other two were taken into custody after having fled into Gillian’s Wonderland Pier, the Press said.

Arrested on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct were Harold E. Corbin, 25, and Darnell M. Willingham, 29, both of Philadelphia, and Breland J. Roach, 26, and Qwanayzia N. Nelson, 23, both of Harrisburg. Trevis Willingham, 34, of Philadelphia, was charged with disorderly conduct.
