Police are searching for four men in an armed home-invasion robbery in South Philadelphia.

About 10:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to a house on the 300 block of Tree Street in the Whitman section. The victims told them that moments earlier, a man they didn’t know knocked on the door, asking about another man who lived in the home.

One of the victims closed the door, but didn’t lock it. About five minutes later, four men wearing masks and rubber gloves rushed into the house.

One intruder put a gun to the head of a 55-year-old woman, demanding, “Where is the money?”

Two others went to the second floor and pushed a 23-year-old woman into her room and again asked for money, police said. The intruders ordered the two women to put blankets over their heads while they ransacked the home, then stole an Xbox, a laptop computer and an iPhone, police said. The women were not injured.

The robbers were described as black men. One was wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt, was about 6 feet tall and of thin build. A second was wearing a blue-hooded sweatshirt. A third was wearing a red face mask and a black hooded sweatshirt, with the words Neumann Goretti on it, after the Catholic high school. Police did not have any further description of the fourth suspect.
