Firefighters battled for about four hours Saturday morning to control a four-alarm fire that burned through a warehouse in Frankford and forced the evacuation of nearby homes.
No injuries have been reported in the blaze, which burned through the roof at 4200 Tackawanna Street, a block-long building.
The blaze was reported about 4:15 a.m. and immediately went to a second alarm.

Two more alarms followed before the fire was brought under control around 8:30 a.m.
Residents of about a dozen homes on Auth Street, which share a rear alley with the warehouse, were evactuated by firefighters knocking on doors. Some residents reported smelling smoke and getting out on their own.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
