Two people were killed and five wounded overnight Sunday and Monday in separate shootings in different parts of Philadelphia, police said.

The bloodshed followed a weekend during which 15 people were shot, two fatally, in the city.

At least 19 people were shot, four fatally, in 11 incidents in Philadelphia from early Saturday morning through Monday morning.

On Monday afternoon in Southwest Philadelphia, a 25-year-old man was shot in the right thigh in the 1900 block of South 59th Street. He was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition.

About 5:45 a.m. in Kensington, officers responding to a report of gunfire found a 34-year-old man who had been shot in the head on the 600 block of East Clementine Street. The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:02 a.m.

Around 2 a.m., officers on patrol responded to the 6200 block of Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia after hearing a single gunshot and found a 27-year-old man, “bleeding profusely from the back,” police said in a statement. Medics pronounced him dead at 2:07 a.m.

About an hour earlier, three people with bullet wounds to their legs showed up at Temple University Hospital, police said.

They told police they were going to a sandwich shop on the 4400 block of Whitaker Street in Juniata Park/Feltonville and saw two men arguing in the parking lot.

Suddenly, gunfire rang out and they jumped back into their vehicle and drove to the hospital. None of the wounds were life-threatening.

Police meanwhile reported that a man was in stable condition at Jefferson University Hospital aftere being shot in the left leg and knee Sunday evening on the 2500 block of South Sixth Street in South Philadelphia. No other details were available.

Investigations are under way and police reported no arrests Monday in any of the shootings.
