Philly closes playgrounds and courts to encourage social distancing. But you can still visit parks.

Effective Thursday, March 19, all Philadelphia Parks & Recreation playgrounds and athletic courts are closed to discourage the spread of the coronavirus. This includes basketball and handball courts. Parks & Rec’s parks, athletic fields, and trails remain open. On Friday March 20, Parks and Recreation employees posted signs at Lemon Hill Playground and along the Schuylkill River Trail encouraging social distancing at the open parks and trails.
